About Me

Inspired by teachings of Western therapists and Eastern philosophy, Louisa's therapeutic approach is rooted in her belief that each individual has the innate capacity to recognize their truth and the ability to find the answers to their problems. With her compassionate and optimistic nature, and empathic yet direct style, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Professional Experience

Currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients, Louisa also served as Adjunct Professor at Central Connecticut State University, where she taught the Master's Level course "Systemic Perspectives on Mental Disorders". She is a supervisor approved by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and has supervised third year MFT students in their internship placements towards acquiring their degree. Louisa has worked extensively in the field of trauma and abuse with children, adolescents and adults since 2001. She graduated from CCSU in 2008 at the top of her class and received her license as a Marriage and Family Therapist one year later. Prior to this, she was an instructor in Adult Education, and after dissolving her business as a successful horse breeder and trainer in Germany, she began working with physically challenged and emotionally disturbed children and adults using horses as her co-therapists.  Louisa, in addition, has been featured in the "Hartford's Finest 2011" series in the July 6, 2011 edition of the Hartford Advocate.
